Introducing the LYBL armrest tray and our Revelation Range
There you are, a refreshing tin of Uplift Kombucha’s blueberry pomegranate flavour in one hand, a glass in the other, about to sink into your favourite occasional chair. As you’re hovering above the seat, your mind plays out the various scenarios of what could go wrong, if you don’t drag the coffee table, that’s positioned a little too far away, a little closer. You’ve tried to balance a number of things on this armrest before, and you have learned from experience that it doesn’t really provide a stable platform. The remote is dug out from between the cushions on a regular basis; and while you’ve been hunting there you have, more often than not, retrieved a few more items previously on your lost, now found list. This includes a pencil, some change, a small flashlight, and most recently some knitting needles (note to self, you still have that throw to finish).
You’ve also balanced some biscuits (as evidenced by the retrieved crumbs) as well as rescued your laptop from tumbling off this precarious perch a number of times. Suddenly your mind (fuelled by the refreshing zesty lemon ginger flavoured organic Uplift Kombucha you consumed earlier), turns to solutions.
And so, the first product in our creative and practical “Revelation Range” – the items you didn’t know you needed until you needed them – is born! Enter our LYBL armrest tray – one of the latest essential furniture accessory from LYBL, that will last many lifetimes, and is now available in our online boutique.
This flexible armrest tray provides a small stable platform on most sofa and occasional chair arms. It is a perfect combination of form and function – shaped to wrap around the furniture piece’s arm, while offering a convenient, easy-to-reach even surface for glasses, plates, devices, remotes, books and/or a whole host of other small items… Including a peach granadilla flavoured Uplift Kombucha in a martini glass – the last of the three flavours you promised your cousin you would try!
We collaborated with Uplift Kombucha on the launch of our armrest tray as it too is a proudly South African luxury artisanal brand that echoes many of the same ideals that we at LYBL subscribe to. We admire their commitment to quality and their use of natural and locally sourced organic ingredients in recreating a South African version of this ancient traditional drink.
If you’ve been following us on our socials, you’ll know that our studio is committed to promoting the creation of high-quality, thoughtfully made pieces that authentically represent the immense artisanal talent residing within South Africa. You’ll understand that one of our missions is to reignite nostalgia. In fact a core part of our brand is the birth of a new nostalgia. Simply put it is our desire to re-awaken the appreciation of things that take time to create, and things that are created to appreciate over time – that is, they grow better and more valuable (also sentimentally) as time goes by.
This desire for longevity and purpose is one we also see reflected in Uplift Kombucha – a product that caters for overall well-being, and for some may be seen as an ultimate indulgence. Each product in our range could also be seen as a luxurious indulgence – nonetheless one that will stand the test of time, and as much worth of investment as a healthy body, a healthy mind, and a healthy soul.
In closing, and before you head over to our boutique to look at the first of our must have furniture accessories, we are sure that you’d like to know that our talented artisans have made them in either White Oak (chosen for its strength, durability and natural beauty) or African Mahogany (chosen for its strength, durability and rich colour), and finished the base of with repurposed leather, also adding to its versatile and sustainable nature. Because, you know what, we discovered that our little armrest tray also serves as a perfect non-slip surface for a laptop, if you just turn it over!
And now that we have our beautiful new accessories perched and ready for you, we can graduate to drinking hot beverages on our brand new armrest trays. Tea anyone?
